I've been passionate about photography all my adult life. I first picked up a proper camera in 2001 when I met my Husband. He had a Nikon SLR (Film) and I took his granddad's old Praktica Film camera out for the day and I was quickly hooked. Learning on a film camera made me really appreciate the skill involved in trying to expose a picture correctly (because trial and error was expensive). I moved on to a digital set up mid 2000's with the Nikon D100.
I did some professional Wedding Photography and a fair amount of Headshot and Portrait Photography, as people photography was my first passion. Then around 2019 I went on a personal journey to mend my mental health and to improve my physical health, which I'd neglected in my 20's/30's, and so I started hiking in the Lake District at the weekends. I'm so lucky to live just around an hour away from the area. My husband and I fell in love with the fells and last year we remembered to start taking our cameras out with us again and since then our photography adventures have become a lot more creative and productive.
Nowadays I shoot with a mirrorless Fuji X Series camera and lenses. I've loved them since they first came out. The portability and look and feel of the cameras is so reminicent of that Praktica film camera I first used. It was a perfect match for me. I am now shooting with the XT-3 which gives me the speed and the quality I need for landscapes, portraits, events and much more.

I am a portrait photographer. I specialise in natural images which bring out my subjects personalities. This session can take place at your location of choice. You have me for an hour. I will co-ordinate with you on what your aims are for the shoot. For example will it be for "Headshots", "Family Portraits", "Event Pictures". Then we can arrange a suitable date and time/location. I will co-ordinate with you on what your aims are for the shoot. For example will it be for "An Event", "Wedding", "Family Portraits" Then we can arrange a suitable date and time/location. What do you get: You will get all the photos from the shoot provided digitally. I don't provide prints/albums as standard. If that is something you are looking for I can help/advise but they are not included in my photography packages.
